November 29, 201312 yr i was using unraid 5.0 beta 12 , there was no issues passward and user when i go through my popcorn hour to mount share now i upgraded to the newest release it askes me for a username and password on a prompt? can it be removed ? if not what is it?

Every once and a while one of my wdtv live hubs will ask me the same - either after a firmware update on the wdtv boxes or an upgrade on the unRaid Software. I currently only use Samba shares, but when this happens i make the Samba Setting haven't changed - workgroup is still set to workgroup and enabled, then at the wdtv box when is prompts me for username and password I enter "anonymous" without quotations for both fields. I have never had this not work... to my knowledge it cannot be removed.

I have never had this not work... to my knowledge it cannot be removed. I had the same issue with other NAS boxes in the past, all linux based and the anonymous worked for them as well. Are you able to try entering anonymous for username and password? Then post results, then if that doesn't work I'm sure we can figure this out together.
December 7, 201312 yr Author dont work mate , sorry been workin just tried i can into my compueter in the a400 browser its only when i try the unraid server i get user name and pass word prompt
