November 30, 201312 yr Which is correct cable for IBM ServeRAID M1015? I am getting confused.. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3ware-cbl-sff8087ocr-05m-mini-sas-to-sata-fanout-reverse-cable-05-meters or http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3ware-cbl-sff8087ocf-06m-mini-sas-to-sata-fanout-06-meters or http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3ware-cbl-sff8087ocr-06m-mini-sas-to-sata-fanout-reverse-cable-06-meters or http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3ware-cbl-sff8087ocf-10m-sff-8087-to-discrete-forward-breakout-cable
November 30, 201312 yr Depends on the other connection. Some use a SAS to SAS, like Norco cases. Seems like you want SAS to SATA discrete. If so, you will want Forward, not reverse fanout, the parts with ocf. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3ware-cbl-sff8087ocf-06m-mini-sas-to-sata-fanout-06-meters
December 3, 201312 yr Whoever design this cable spec and naming needs a lesson in common sense. Let me make it simple. What you care about is the connector type at the motherboard or RAID card end: If the motherboard or RAID card is the fancy 8087 plug you want FORWARD. If the motherboard or RAID card is traditional set of sata plugs you want REVERSE. The cables you listed have ocR and ocF to make it more obvious which is which. For what it is worth those are a good price
