It has very high numbers in the reallocated sector, pending sectors, and uncorrectable. That drive is dead and I would not trust it for any purpose, especially unRAID.
November 30, 201312 yr It is my understanding that drives can often fail without ever giving "failing now". It does also seem strange to me that your drive doesn't have a failing now status considering how many bad sectors it has. Maybe someone else can explain how the failing now status is determined? Anyway you have to ask yourself if you trust that drive enough with your data. IMO run away!
November 30, 201312 yr If you pre-clear it several times it should eventually be failing-now, but SMART is not very reliable.
