[SOLVED] File can't be copied (to unraid) because its too large

Featured Replies

Hi,

i'm having an issue with moving a file from mac to unraid, i get this message:

"The item “NIN 2.iso” can’t be copied because it is too large for the volume's format"

i've never had those problems before on unraid 4.7, os x 10.7 - 10.8

right now i'm using unraid 5.0, mac os x 10.9, over SMB

i found a thread http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=29929.0 - didn't help me...i don't even think it has anything to do with file path length in my case...

btw, the file copies fine over terminal

Rumpelstilzchens-Mac-mini:~ Rumpelstilzchen$ mv /Users/Rumpelstilzchen/Desktop/NIN\ 2\ v2.iso /Volumes/MEDIA/MUSIC/DVDA\ iso

file size is 7GB just in case...

Thanks

and 7Gig available on your cache (if you use one).

no actually, i have 319gb on my cache and 500GB on the target drive :)

smb2 is a lot faster. After each mac update you can see if it's fixed. I expect the next update will fix this.
