[SOLVED] Permissions problem

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I wonder if someone can please help.  I've been using an UnRAID server for a good few months now without issue.  The other day I saved some photos to a share on my unRAID box, but now when I try to access them, I get a message 'Windows cannot access blah blah.. - You do not have permission to access \\shareblahblah'.

When I telnet onto the box I can see all the files are there in the directory, so I'm not sure why all of a sudden, that one directory within the share cannot be accessed via Windows?

Many thanks for your help

Hi,

Ah yes, apologies:

UnRAID v5.0 Basic

syslog.txt

The system was not shutdown correctly. This may result in filesystem corruption. Run check disk on the flash in a Mac or PC. Also see check disk file systems in my sig.

Thanks for your suggestion.

I have checked the two data partitions (sdc1/sdd1) and fsck.resierfs reports no issues with the filesystem(s).

Check the flash as well and then select Utils->New Permissions

Oh perfect,  once I had run the 'New Permissions' script that has cleared the problem.  I was not aware of that option.  Not sure how the permissions got changed as I only ever access via samba, but it's sorted now so that's the main thing.

Thanks for your help
