December 16, 201312 yr Hi all, pretty new with UNRAID. I'm on 5.0.4 1 Parity disk and 1 disk that has all the shares. I enabled user shares, but left SMB open to public. I copied some files and folder to one of the share I created via a windows 7 desktop. Now, using the same station, I cannot delete the folders. Some other folders that I need to copy now say permission denied, yet all premissions are the same on that share. What am I not getting?
December 16, 201312 yr Author also, when trying to delete the folders using MC, says Read-Only filesystem ?!?
December 16, 201312 yr Author Dec 16 11:04:01 Tower shfs/user: shfs_unlink: unlink: /mnt/disk1/public/iMovie Projects/.AppleDouble/.Parent (30) Read-only file system
December 16, 201312 yr Author anyone know why the user share are readonly when when security is set to public?
December 16, 201312 yr Author im rebuilding now. I read that the read on file system could be due to a problem with the drive, so I am following the link below to see: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Check_Disk_Filesystems this is what it gave me: ########### reiserfsck --check started at Mon Dec 16 15:10:07 2013 ########### Replaying journal: Done. Reiserfs journal '/dev/md1' in blocks [18..8211]: 0 transactions replayed Checking internal tree.. finished Comparing bitmaps..vpf-10640: The on-disk and the correct bitmaps differs. Checking Semantic tree: finished 1 found corruptions can be fixed when running with --fix-fixable ########### reiserfsck finished at Mon Dec 16 15:13:02 2013 ########### root@UNRAID:~# I will now execute that command. My question is how will I know if the drive is now read/write? Second is how do I adjust the Time as it's way off.
December 16, 201312 yr you'll probably have to reboot after the rieserfsck is done to get r/w access back. date/time can be adjusted in the webgui settings>data&time set your time zone correctly then enable Use NTP "yes", and finally set the first ntp server to time.windows.com
December 16, 201312 yr Author this is what it came back with. Will check consistency of the filesystem on /dev/md1 and will fix what can be fixed without --rebuild-tree Will put log info to 'stdout' Do you want to run this program?[N/Yes] (note need to type Yes if you do):Yes ########### reiserfsck --fix-fixable started at Mon Dec 16 15:15:23 2013 ########### Replaying journal: Done. Will be fixed later. December 16, 201312 yr Author i rebooted and re-ran reiserfsck --check /dev/md1 ########### reiserfsck --check started at Mon Dec 16 18:35:06 2013 ########### Replaying journal: Done. December 17, 201312 yr Author I'm getting all theses disk0 errors: md: disk0 read error, sector=1246536344 Disk 0 is my parity drive. How do you do the reiserfsck on that drive? I can do it on the other data drives, but unsure how to do it on this one. ata1.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x0 ata1.00: BMDMA stat 0x24 ata1.00: failed command: READ DMA EXT ata1.00: cmd 25/00:00:e0:9e:4c/00:04:4a:00:00/e0 tag 0 dma 524288 in res 51/40:00:30:a0:4c/40:00:4a:00:00/00 Emask 0x9 (media error) ata1.00: status: { DRDY ERR } ata1.00: error: { UNC } ata1.00: configured for UDMA/133 sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Unhandled sense code sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Result: hostbyte=0x00 driverbyte=0x08 sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Sense Key : 0x3 [current] [descriptor] Descriptor sense data with sense descriptors (in hex): 72 03 11 04 00 00 00 0c 00 0a 80 00 00 00 00 00 4a 4c a0 30 sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x4 sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] CDB: cdb[0]=0x28: 28 00 4a 4c 9e e0 00 04 00 00 end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 1246535728 ata1: EH complete
December 17, 201312 yr The parity drive does not have a reiserfs file system, so you can't use reiserfsck on it. Besides, the error you posted is most likely a drive failure of some sort, and you need to pull a smart report on it to check that.
December 17, 201312 yr Author thanks, as i see the smart is saying my parity drive is failing... im replacing it with another drive that I will test first before putting in service.
