December 19, 201312 yr http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Power_Surge/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=cadhs1&sku=A1833724 It's on sale at Dell. I have a server that runs about 80watt on idle and 130watts when all disks are spun up. Would this UPS meet my needs? and if so, is this a good deal? Or should I be looking at a higher capacity UPS? Thanks!
December 19, 201312 yr It should be sufficient. It would give you approximately 20 minutes of runtime at 130W. I use the same UPS on my server and it works great and I have no complaints. My server isn't as power hungry as yours though, typically 38W at idle and 70W at full load. That's not a bad price, it's currently going for $63 on Newegg.
December 20, 201312 yr FWIW, I would not buy a UPS unit that doesn't have AVR circuitry -- which this does not. Spend a few more $$ and get a quality unit with AVR.

January 9, 201412 yr Author Thanks for that advice! Ended up buying this: http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Power_Surge/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&cs=cadhs1&sku=A1562836&baynote_bnrank=0&baynote_irrank=0&~ck=baynoteSearch Dell has some messed up name but this seems to be it from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/APC-BE750G-Saving-Battery-Back-UPS/dp/B000Z80ICM And traced it back to the APC site: http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BE750G%2DCN&total_watts=200&xtmc=BE750G-CN%2520-%2520APC%2520Power-Saving%2520Back-UPS%2520750VA%252C%252010%2520outlet%252C%2520120V%252C%2520Canada&xtcr=1&tab=models Amazon said it has AVR in the description. I hope it wasn't lying! It seems to offer about 20 minutes or so for my system and I'm more than happy with it. I guess I'll know if it works if the power goes out! Cheers!
