Browser Slowness / Compatibility

Featured Replies

Does anyone else have issues with slowness or their server just flat out not loading at all via web browser?  Since I installed UnRAID I havne't been able to access my server once through Chrome, IE is hit or miss (or slow & buggy when I do get in, logger window won't open at all) and Firefox takes about 10 seconds to bring up the login box and the log window crashes the program after running a while.  I have the most up to date versions of Firefox and Chrome and I'm running IE10.

Anyone else have issues like this or is it just me?  Because frankly, these issues are not something I want to be dealing with on a consistent basis.  I figured with such a trimmed down and basic webgui I wouldn't have many, if any, headaches to deal with.

*Running UnRAID Server Plus ver. 5.0.4.

its nearly instant for me on Firefox 26 and IE 10., even on wifi.

is your unRAID on static IP? mine is, might make the difference.

See if there is a difference when using the direct IP address vs the name.

If there is, then there might be a DNS issue with your router.

Usually once I find the mac address.

I put in a static DHCP ip entry to the mac address and give it a name.

If access by ip address is just as slow, maybe there is some spyware inserted into the TCP/IP stack.

Issue a ping by ip address, note the response time.

Same issue via IP or host name.  All my devices are on static IP addresses and I've tried changing the IP and it doesn't make a difference.  I'm pretty positive it's not a spyware issue.  Pings are all <1ms.

Are you loading any plugins?

If so, have you tried rebooting in safe mode?

How many drives are on your server?

No plugins just plain vanilla UnRAID 5.0.4.  I've rebooted my server a good 7-8 times since I set it up a few days ago.  Even when I get connected to it via the web browser, the moment I kick off the mover and it finishes, it then freezes trying to load any page I try to go to from then on (ie. Users, Settings, etc.).  The only remedy is to close the browser and try to get back in but that doesn't even work every time.  It's getting to be a real pain.  Server specs are listed in my sig.

Wireless or wired?

What motherboard are you using?

How do transfers over SMB work?

Maybe there's an issue on the network card.

I don't have the experience you are posting about. i.e. response time is fine.

Board is a rock solid board only about 2 months old. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813182820

Transfers over SMB are 85-100MB/s to shares using the cache drive.  Very strange problem I agree, I have no latency type issues on my network.  My VM box is using the exact same board as well.

I just connected to a machine from one I do not use that often.

It took 16 seconds to bring up the screen after login.

After that it refreshed fine. I have 4 drives.

I closed the window and started another browser, 4 seconds to show the front screen after that.

7 drives including parity and cache.

Any security software?

Nope.  I seem to have it working well in Firefox now so I guess that's what I'll continue to use.  Just very strange that the other 2 browsers don't like my server.
