December 20, 201312 yr Ok, so I know I said I wouldn't do a Gotham version of my plugin because it would be too much of a hassle to keep up to date with it but I might consider changing that position if there is enough interest or reasonable argumenst. My biggest concern was the amount of time it would take to be frequently updating it to the latest beta. However with the latest update to the plugin I realized there isn't much to work on anymore and if I script the majority of the build process, keeping up with a Gotham build might not be so bad. Maybe. I'm just feeling it out right now. I don't even use Gotham. I just don't want to make the effort if only, like, two people are interested.
December 20, 201312 yr Gotham is still in Alpha Releases. They just did a feature freeze not long ago so it might be a month or so before you see the first beta. Having said that, you would know better than anyone if they are changing / updating the database. From my own personal experience, I have been running Gotham on one of my test machines using mysql and I haven't had to touch it when I install a newer Alpha here and there.
December 20, 201312 yr Author Right, I meant alpha. Even though I know better, when I said "beta" I really generically just meant "test version". I'm becoming what I hate. Anyway, that comment raises another point I had overlooked. Since all this does is manage the library I likely wouldn't need to update it with every iteration. Just ones that change the database version.
December 21, 201312 yr Not me as I have 2 Pivos Xios boxes which seem destined to remain on Frodo. If they can migrate to Gotham, or I replace them then I'd be all for a Gotham Salud. Unless unRAID NG is released by then and I could install a native full xbmc / headless xbmc without the need for plugins.
December 21, 201312 yr Just follow the stable releases. It could cause confusion when people would have multiple database versions
December 23, 201312 yr I would absolutely love a Gotham version. I'm still on Frodo only for this reason. Cheers!
January 8, 201412 yr Is this the appropriate place to discuss testing with the Gotham version of XBMC Salud?
January 8, 201412 yr Ok, so I have updated my plug-in to the 1.4 Gotham version. It seems the plugin is running, according to Unraid, however I cannot connect to the xbmc instance. In fact, salud is not generating a log file. To be safe, and to make a clean install, I renamed my existing 1.3 salud folder and let the plugin recreate from scratch. I then copied over my advancedsettings and sources files. Is there another log file I can look at since Salud is not creating one just yet? Thanks
January 8, 201412 yr Author no there isnt. ive gotten report of that. i'll have to look at it. that's why it is in testing.
January 9, 201412 yr If there is anything I can get, retrieve, or try, let me know. Willing to help in anyway I can. I appreciate this a lot.
