December 21, 201312 yr so this is more of a general linux question than unraid. i am shuffling some data around and i took a 2tb drive with 63gb free space from my array and another blank 2tb and threw them in an ubuntu box. i made sure and formatted the second drive in ntfs both in windows and gparted, made sure the entire drive is being used for the partition but on two different versions of ubuntu i am getting a message saying that i need an additional 5.2gb to copy. i am baffled. the only thing i can think of that it might be is an issue with a symlink but i am 99% sure i never put on on there and not even sure if that would do it. i am at a loss as to what the issue is.
December 21, 201312 yr So, you are copying from a reiserfs to ntfs? If so, the wasted space in the ntfs clusters may be using more space. How many files?
December 21, 201312 yr Author Yes, but there is 63gb free and it is saying 5.2 gbs are needed. i highly doubt there would be 68gb of wasted cluster space. there are 4358 files.
December 21, 201312 yr Author Ok, so i just used cp instead and it worked although there still is a discrepency at 63.2gb and 64.9gb. That's likely overhead and such.
