HELP: No longer have WebUI or smb shares

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Wondering if someone can please give me a hand. It seems after an unexpected powerfault (yes i should invest in a UPS) I no longer have access to smb shares or the webui from my array. I had tried to restart web ui using:

killall emhttp

nohup /usr/local/sbin/emhttp &

To no avail and had an error in log identifying /config/flash.cfg could not be located.

I can access //media:8080 and //IP:8080 with unmenu and can see all the drives are mounted and array is online but do not have access to shares or the UI. The webUI will not load from IP //media or through

Some (not all) plugins are working including headphones, htpc manager and couchpotato but I do not have access to transmission or sickbeard or mylar.

I can access unraid via telnet from other windows machines.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Garath

You are running  version 5.0-rc5 of unraid.

Make sure you upgrade to the latest version..

With respect to your specific issue: you cannot restart emhttp from a telnet session, this was possible in release 4, no longer in 5. If your webgui is unreachable a reboot is the only thing you can do.

Reboot your system and before that, just to be sure, do a chkdsk on your flashdrive. If all ok, then restart and let the parity check run.

Hi Hellmonder,

Thank-you for the quick reply. I will give it a try.

Hi Hellmonder,

I have followed your advice including an upgrade to the latest stable version following all instructions for Release 5.

After reboot I still have exactly the same issues.

The only smb share is that for flash.

Now that you are on the latest release, when you boot the server there should be an option to select safe mode. You will need a monitor and keyboard attached to the machine to see and select this option.

Are you waiting long enough ? After a forced reboot the filesystems need some time (minutes) to stabilise... Untill that is finished you only see the flash share..
