bonienl
They were, but they clutter up the screen so I would like to get rid of them so I don't miss an important message. These warnings can not be surpressed in unRAID v5, because it does not have certifcates installed, and downloads of files from github are done without certifcate verification, hence the warnings. FYI. unRAID v6 can do downloads with certificates. Link to comment
barrygordon
Thanks for the quick explanation. No issue, I'll wait till I am ready for uNRaid 6. On a slightly separate note, I am using a 2 gig flash drive as the boot drive. It has about 15% free space. Is there any advantage to going to a larger drive? Thanks again to all. The upgrade was painless. Link to comment

Is there any advantage to going to a larger drive? That depends on what is being written to the flash. unRAID itself writes its configuration files to flash, which is really peanuts. I am also using a 2 GB flash drive, it is full for about 40%, I try to avoid applications writing to it in order to extend its lifespan and the size is more than enough. Link to comment
barrygordon
Thanks. I will leave well enough alone. By the way Dynamix is Very nice. Take that as a high compliment from a guy who has been in the Digital business for over 55 years and is not known to give compliments. Link to comment

DocStearn
Hi - new user experience - I installed Web GUI for the first time last night after upgrading from 5.0.5 and to 5.0.6 and found a behaviour that I don't think has been covered in the previous 80 pages of the thread. The Dashboard tab shows content in the Statistics and System Status sections only when the array is stopped. Start the array, the content disappears - i.e., no green dots for active, no thumbs up for disk health, and next to nothing in the System Status box. Any thoughts? Has this been seen before? [edited to fix the typo] Link to comment
bonienl
Did you upgrade to unRAID v6b12 or are you on v5.0.6 ? Link to comment

Frank1940
Sorry, I upgraded from 5.0.5 to 5.0.6 - I didn't catch that typo in my post. Try clearing the cache(s) in your browser. Link to comment
DocStearn
It's not a cache issue. I have a second smaller UnRAID setup also running 5.0.6 with WebGUI and that build's dashboard displays correctly when the array is up and running. I've also checked both dashboards from a browser on a second desktop, and seeing the same results. Link to comment
FreeMan
A small feature request: When Dynamix notices that a parity check is running, I'd like to be able to receive hourly email updates including percentage complete and number of errors found/corrected, instead of the standard X hours that I've defined. It should be optional, and the frequency adjustable, of course. It's a minor detail, and if I'm not at home to be able to monitor it, there's really nothing I can do about it anyway, but the OCD in me would love to get the regular updates. Thanks! Link to comment

This is something which can be considered for v6, but not v5 (notification system has changed quite a lot). Anyway I put your request on my list for future improvements. Thanks for suggesting. [edited to fix the typo] I made a post about this same issue about a month back in multiple threads, and I know there was at least one or two more users having the same issues. Never seemed to pick up much attention - everyone told me just to clear my browser's cache, but this is clearly not the problem as it offers no solution to clear my browsers cache. Hopefully it is a simple issue to fix because it is rather annoying not having that page display properly. Link to comment
bonienl
It sure has attention, but you are the first one reporting this observation in v5. Can you tell what brand and model hard disks you have in your system ? Link to comment

Can you tell what brand and model hard disks you have in your system ? To clarify - I'm running Unraid 6 B12 but I have had the same issues with 5.0.6 as well. I've posted a screenshot of the drives I'm running in the Unraid array. Link to comment
bonienl
Thanks for your screenshot. Some changes have been made for v6 which should address the problem in the dashboard page. These will become available in a next version. Link to comment

anime513
Been using Dynamix for a while now and its great. Quick question, I noticed recently that when I use the webGUI that all my HDD indicators on my hot swap bays light up until I exit out. Not sure if it's always been that way or not. Is this regular behavior? Link to comment
bonienl
Been using Dynamix for a while now and its great. Quick question, I noticed recently that when I use the webGUI that all my HDD indicators on my hot swap bays light up until I exit out. Not sure if it's always been that way or not. Is this regular behavior? Dynamix does continuous updating of the GUI by making HTTP requests in the background. In unRAID v5 this has the effect that emhttp - the web server - makes a disk query upon each HTTP request it receives regardless of what is being asked. On certain systems this translates into continous HDD light flashing. You can change this behavior under "Display Settings => Page refresh". When disabled it requires to do the user a manual refresh, are alternatively change the update interval. Lastly if this has negative impact on the speed of a parity check (as some people have reported), then set it to disabled while a partiy operation is in progress. Link to comment
