December 25, 201312 yr Is Proxmox not a good KVM platform? Seems like it would be easy for me linux noob!
December 25, 201312 yr ..it is great...for KVM (and OpenVZ which is more lightweight but onlx for Linux VMs/Containers) but vt-d/passthrough is not integrated in the GUI. So if you plan on virtualizing unRAID, enabling vt-d is not easy. I'd verify on another OS, like ESXi that vmdirectpath is properly enabled in your hardware. Only then, I'd follow the instructions on the proxmox wiki for passthrough, from here: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Pci_passthrough
