December 27, 201312 yr Has anyone tried installing the server on unraid? It looks like some success installing on other linux distros: http://mediabrowser3.com/community/index.php?/topic/947-linux-server/ you can see on page 3/4 of the thread comments on how to install, and requiring mono to be installed. Would be very interested if one of our experienced unraid members could give this a try and post instructions? thanks chuga
December 27, 201312 yr Mono probably has way too many dependencies for unRAID. Probably easier to just put it in a Windows VM
December 27, 201312 yr Would have to agree. There was another thread where someone was trying to get another piece of software working on unRaid (don't remember the name), but it also required Mono which proved to be a huge roadblock.
December 28, 201312 yr I too was waiting for someone to provide instructions for installing MB server on unraid. Very disappointing to learn about this.
January 16, 201412 yr Here is a more current link with some instructions http://mediabrowser3.com/community/index.php?/topic/3634-mono-server-linux-os-x/ I thought this would be cool also. But then I wonder how it works when Media Browser transcodes to send to other devices, would an UnRaid server have the power to do that?
January 16, 201412 yr UnRaid server have the power to do that? Depends entirely on your hardware. The Intel board supplied in current LimeTech servers are stated to have enough horsepower for running VM clients, thus I would assume it would have enough for transcoding. If it's your own hardware, it all depends on what you have.
