December 31, 201312 yr Hi guys, I just rebooted a 20 disk Supermicro (X7SBE, SIM1U+) based 4.7 unraid server and it fails now to boot. After the POST a warning: SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk. WARNING: Immediately back-up your data and replace your hard disk drive. A failure May Be Imminent. Press F1 to continue. Pressing F1 wipes that error message and the cursor stays there blinking. Setting in the BIOS to continue on errors doesn't change anything. So, the server basically can't get to the unRAID stick and boot. At this level it also don't show any details about the disk, no serial number. I was running an unraid verification couple of days ago and didn't had any issues with it and all the drives. No changes whatsoever in the BIOS, boot order, .. since then. Any suggestions as to what I might try in order to boot the server? Many thanks for any hints in advance!
December 31, 201312 yr Author BIOS update solved the problem. The server just booted straight into unraid again. Now extensively checking the drive(s)...
