Tower kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged

Featured Replies

Every time I boot I get the following error.

Jan 3 15:52:19 Tower kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged

I've attached a complete syslog.

Thanks

This is a hard error to diagnose because it's so broad.  I just went through this myself.  I did many things and finally I haven't had this error in a week or so.  (Fingers crossed).

Watch where the error happens and see if there is any common denominator of what your system was doing when the system error occurred.  Mine alway happened when I was writing to my drives with MKV and renewing my lease.  I went to a static ip address and replaced my cables to the server with new cat6.

Make sure the flash drive with the unRaid OS is securely seated.

Make sure your cables are well seated to the mobo and your cards and memory is seated correctly.

Make sure you have updated your card and board bios so that your cards and ports are compatible.

I also made sure that I was running the current version of unRaid, mainly because the upgrades had hardware upgrades that pertained to my board.

While there is no guarantee this will work, it doesn't hurt to check and double check, it doesn't cost anything.  Good Luck!

It happens right after a boot, minute and a half after emhttp is started.  Then it doesn't happen again.

How do I check the "Machine check events"?
