January 5, 201412 yr I'm running version 5.0.4 vanilla (no plug-ins). I've been getting the occasional "mce: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged" show up in my logs when the mover is running. It's making me question whether I might have a bad hard drive. Are there any simple ways of testing my drives? I'd like to be able to run weekly tests on them anyway in the future.
January 5, 201412 yr temporarily turn off unRAID spindown on the drive in question. Issue the smartctl -t long /dev/sd? where ?= the drive in question. I could take about 5-6 hours. Come back and grab the smart log and review it. smartctl -a /dev/sd? If you leave the spindown timer enabled, it will interrupt the drive's firmware test.

How do I determine which drive is causing the error message?
