[SOLVED] After upgrade to 5.0.4, can't map to existing shares,..asks for

Featured Replies

I was running 5.0 RC8 and followed the directions to upgrade to 5.0.4

All went well, in that the gui shows all my drives and the pre-existing shares.

However, when I use my laptop (any computer) that already had the shares mapped,...I'm now asked for UID and password.

These are public shares. I seem to recall that I needed to re-map the drives,..so I disconnect all mapped drives and try to re-map.

Again, it asks for UID and password.

If I put in root for UID, and get: The specified network name is not longer available

I did run the security procedure after the upgrade.

root is no longer allowed share access. Delete any save credentials in Windows.

Thanks but I don't have any saved credentials in Windows.

Also, these shares are set as Public shares.

Rebooted the unRaid server, rebooted the Windows 8 laptop, rebooted the Windows 7 workstation,....still no dice.

Okay,....now I'm just about as confused as the other people who have also reported this issue.

It seems that I can now access all of my shares.

What did I do???? A little bit of everything mentioned in this post, as well as the others.

Overall,...no clue what did it.

Thanks for your help!!!! I always appreciate those who help a "brother in need"!!! :)
