Any idea how to get System Temp to work (on Unraid 6.8.3 • Supermicro SuperServer 6027R-E1R12T (rev 03.54) • X9DRH-7TF V1.02)

The first time I installed it immediately after clicking detecting and it finding the nct7904 I had a whole bunch of sensors detecting but the second I clicked Done they all disappeared and I'm left with this:

image.thumb.png.0ce063afc01a675e63785ef32797528b.png

My sensors seem to be found okay (although my fan speeds suddenly disappeared from netstat):

root@fs:~# sensors
coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Package id 0:  +33.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 0:        +27.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 1:        +33.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 2:        +27.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 3:        +26.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 4:        +28.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 5:        +27.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 6:        +29.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 7:        +28.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0001
Adapter: ISA adapter
Package id 1:  +30.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 0:        +30.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 1:        +28.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 2:        +24.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 3:        +28.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 4:        +26.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 5:        +29.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 6:        +30.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)
Core 7:        +28.0°C  (high = +74.0°C, crit = +84.0°C)

Now no matter what I try (reinstalling from scratch, any permutation of Detect and Load/Unload drivers), I can't get any sensors to show whatsoever. How do I get this to work on my hardware?

Aww crap, as soon as I "apply" it all goes away :( the config file is rewritten when I hit the Apply button. Is there a way to solve this?

Ha, manually edited it again, hit rescan, applied what I want, and instead of hitting Apply hit Done and was able to keep my temps - woohoo!

Same issue as this!

Guys, I think it's just the kernel that doesn't support the ASUS motherboards. I've got a ROG STRIX B450-I. Temperature sensors are detected by sensors-detect but nothing happens in UNRAID.

UNRAID Admins: please have a look to support AMD a bit more! Thanks!

ya there is a driver package being writing that's posted on the GitHub  for asus boards..  but there is a few glitchs that cant be fixed in it as they stated its a Kernel issue  and has to be addressed..

same issue as well! Supermicro X9DRH-iTF w/ 2x Intel Xeon E5-2650v2. I have sensors populate when following the wiki's instructions but they all disappear when I click done.  An uninstall/reinstall of the plugin did nothing, but a reboot brought it to the same state, all my sensors present but whenI click Done they all disappear and nothing is configured.

@bonienl any way to have the Nuvoton NCT6797D present on a lot of X570 motherboards of Ryzen 3000-series ? Detect doesn’t detect it, but the driver exist.

Ok, I downloaded the latest lm-sensors from GitHub and was able to use the most recent « sensors-detect ».  Here is what it found for my board (ASUS WS Pro X570-ACE).  I wonder how can i load that driver ?? :

Found `Nuvoton NCT6796D Super IO Sensors' Success!
    (address 0x290, driver `nct6775')

Now follows a summary of the probes I have just done.
Just press ENTER to continue:

Driver `nct6775':
  * ISA bus, address 0x290
Chip `Nuvoton NCT6796D Super IO Sensors' (confidence: 9)

Attached is the Syslog.  I can see the driver trying to load, but I think it give an error just after (?)

I'm have the same problem with my Asus Rog Strix x570-E Gaming + 3950X.   Latest bios, unraid 6.8.3.  Perl installed via nerd tools, it detects the same driver above (same form running sensors-detect from ssh), but no actual probes found.  Would love to monitor temps...

I have this same issue, not quite sure when it started but I have ∞°c for all temp values.

Had a quick lol at the wiki page and I am wondering if perl package needs to be updated via nerdpack?

I have Supermicro X8DT3-F motherboard with Dual Intel Xeon x5690

I didn't know about the command @cinereus used but when I used it in my terminal i got an error:

I dunno if this means it's corrupted but this is what's in that file it's complaining about:

root@Ser7en:~# cat /etc/sensors.d/sensors.conf

I'm not sure if this was created by the temperature plugin but I suspect it was...

I have ryzen 3900x got it working with the 6.9.0 beta update.  I'd like to know if theres a way to have it update the temperature more often something more reasonable. like maybe every .5 seconds are something around that.  I've googled it a bunch and searched the forms with no luck.

@5hurb  ya no fix yet for Ryzen CPUS /X570 boards the beta has potential.. but im guessing your running latest stable 6.8.3  and no fix it for but the beta 6.9 supposed to be working..   you can go with  Beta.. or if you can wait till the stable release.. it should be working for that..  or there is GitHub page  working on drivers for Ryzen/X570 boards to work  on current build

i found CPU temps:

Some south bridges, CPUs or memory controllers contain embedded sensors.
Do you want to scan for them? This is totally safe. (YES/no):
Silicon Integrated Systems SIS5595... No
VIA VT82C686 Integrated Sensors... No

AMD Family 11h thermal sensors... No
AMD Family 12h and 14h thermal sensors... No
AMD Family 15h thermal sensors... No
AMD Family 16h thermal sensors... No
AMD Family 17h thermal sensors... Success!
    (driver `k10temp')

but i'm not able to get mobo (Asus Prima a320m-a) temps:

Some Super I/O chips contain embedded sensors. We have to write to
standard I/O ports to probe them. This is usually safe.
Do you want to scan for Super I/O sensors? (YES/no):

Trying family `SMSC'... No
Trying family `VIA/Winbond/Nuvoton/Fintek'... No
Trying family `ITE'... Yes
Found `ITE IT8655E Super IO Sensors' Success!
    (address 0x290, driver `to-be-written')

Trying family `ITE'... No

in the summary i'm told that there's no driver for Super IO Sensors:

Now follows a summary of the probes I have just done.
Just press ENTER to continue:

Driver `to-be-written':
  * ISA bus, address 0x290
Chip `ITE IT8655E Super IO Sensors' (confidence: 9)

Driver `k10temp' (autoloaded):
  * Chip `AMD Family 17h thermal sensors' (confidence: 9)

Note: there is no driver for ITE IT8655E Super IO Sensors yet.
Check https://hwmon.wiki.kernel.org/device_support_status for updates.

No modules to load, skipping modules configuration.

Unloading i2c-dev... OK

is there anything i can do to read mobo temp?

I've just install Unraid 6.8.3 as a Trial and im looking forward to test out the Temp plugin for my Lenovo Thinkstation S20 which is using the X58 Chipset.

I found out that the temp and sensor detected aren't as i expected.

Ive notice my 6core Xeon CPU core temp are missing some of the core and the sensor capture i cant determine which is which.

Can anyone help me out on this or there another sensor driver that i could use to resolve this.

I'm very new to unRaid and no knowledge in Linux or whatever.

Basically this build is to replace my old WHS2010 which already EoLS for quite some time.

Hi,

I upgraded from stable to the latest beta yesterday and noticed my CPU temps are higher than they were on Stable.  I have checked CPU Temp when in the bios and it is 29-30 degrees c

There are quite a few sensors to choose but the CPU one seems very high when the server is idle (no dockers/VM's running) Do I have the right sensor selected?

After advice from Unraid team to post my issue here, maybe I'll have a better support as it could be a plugin issue:

Hello everyone,

I'm actually trying Unraid (And I love it). I've already watched tutorials (thanks Space invader one if you read me !) However I'm running into issues when it comes to temperatures & fan monitoring in general:

- temperatures are shown but are "frozen" and doesn't refresh no matter what I do, either they're completely frozen or the refresh time is way too long.

- The temperatures are different from the IPMI interface

- Thought about going to the plugin page and post my issue, however the issue is not plugin related, I've gone to console and use `watch -n 1 sensors` and temperatures doesn't refresh there too, however the plugin is picking them correctly

- Last, might be a plugin related issue, I don't see any of my fans even if my board got more than 5 pwm fan connectors that are connected to Noctua A14 PWM fans (that are running)

Beside that temperatures displayed are "normal" and "realistic" between 30 to 40°c, and from time to time the threshold od the ssd kicks in when I use them intensively, it just takes a LONG time to refresh

Do you have an idea how can I investigate/solve the issue ?

Please find attached some pictures :

Finally, here all available temperature sensors:

Thank you very much for your read, can you please help me ?

Samy
