How to make python scripts persist after reboot?

Featured Replies

For slackware packages they go into /boot/extra

But if I were to install some python packages like easy_install or pip, or even python2.7, how do I retain it?

For some files I would rsync them from the root filesystem to a storage area after install and modification.

Upon reboot I had the go script rsync the files back from the storage area to the ram root filesystem.

LOL! You have to admit... That is funny!

Imagine If you explained that to anyone else (IT Person) other than unRAID folks here... They would think you have lost your mind.

The thought of using "duct tape" like that on an unRAID Server never crossed my mind before. I read it and started laughing because 1. It works. 2. It's a very crafty way of dealing with the ram root filesystem.
