Hey Guys,

 

I just built my first unRaid solution and it's working great...  So I was gonna kill off one of my Buffalo Terastations and cram its hard drives (4 x 500 GB) into my new unRaid system...

 

But the unofficial official unRaid motherboard does NOT have any IDE controller ports.  What's the suggested IDE controller card?

    The original system had the Promise Ultra 100 TX2 in it.  I just sold 2 of them too. 

     

    Also the wiki has 2 other cards that users reported worked well with unraid.  http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hardware_Compatibility#PCI_IDE_Controllers

     

    You might consider selling those 500GB IDE drives though on ebay since its still cost effective.  I sold mine for $49.99 each plus s&h fee.  So with  1GB SATA drives at $99ish (or for a bit more a 1.5TB at $129) you would probably break even (or better since you'll keep an all SATA system).
