Plex Subtitles

Featured Replies

Hi, I am using xbmc and since xbmc can download substitles but i am thinking of switching to roku 3 with plex i am wondering how do you download subtitles automatically? thanks

Have you tried the Plex forum?

Well nope. Guys here might have some alternative on how to download subtitles automatically also maybe some guys here know since I haven't use plex just yet.

It can be done via the Plex WebGUI.  Set subtitle mode under Languages, then under agents you need to configure the subtitle provider(s) you wish to use.

Thanks. I'll try it

I'm curious to know if this works for you automatically.

I use Handbrake on my movies...if I forget to embed the subtitles when I run Handbrake,

I've been just separately pulling from the nets the required '.srt' file.

Plex will use that file for subtitling if its in the same folder as the movie.

Nope does not work.

Plex only searches for subtitles when the movie is added to the library or when the library or title is refreshed.  Did you click the little refresh arrow?

Yes but didnt seem to get new subtitles. I will try to see the logs.

AFAIK, the opensubtitles.org Plex agent searches for subtitles based on a hash of the file in question. It's entirely possible that there isn't a sub file out there for the particular file you have.

Got this to work? I am having the same problem. Wish there was a plugin for unraid, like couchpotato that is scanning the library and downloading the subtitles from opensubtitles.com.
