January 18, 201412 yr I wonder if I should throw my old Seagate 2TB 7200rpm. It has weird problem with reallocated sector count. HDTune error scan = all green. If I preclear 1 time, the reallocated sector count doesn't increase. If I preclear 3 times straight, the reallocated sector usually increase by 1-3. Temperature idle = 32C, near end of preclear 3 times = 41C All my Red/Green WDC never reach beyond 37C during load.
January 18, 201412 yr 41C is still in the OK range. I set my server to send me a warning if it gets to 45C and shut the server down if it gets to 50C. If the reallocated sector count is increasing within a short period of time then the drive is failing. If you wanted to post a smart report someone could double check that as well.
