Upgraded software = nothing works

yes, describe in detail what you did and what you see when you attempt t boot the server.

 

"It won't boot" could be anything from the server not being plugged into the power outlet, to the BIOS attempting to use the wrong boot device.

Just guessing. If you copied the new syslinux then you will have to run make_bootable again.

I seem to recall something about the newest versions of unRAID needing a larger boot area on the flash drives.

 

You could try a complete KEY reformat, and then Make Bootable again.

Copy your existing FLASH to your PC in case you need the configs back.

 

The instructions for a complete reinstall are in the README.TXT with the unRAID releases. Scroll down to:

Installation on a New Flash Device

and get the Mac or PC instructions.

This is exactly what I did a few days ago when I had the same issue. Everything booted up perfectly and my settings were intact once I moved my backup of my configs back onto the flash drive.

What file is the config file?

config is a directory on the flash drive. Copy the entire config folder.

Thank you guys, all fixed and working :) now to upgrade my rig to a 24 bay system soon.
