N00b - Can't create Share - Help appreciated

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just finished building my case and started evaluating unraid 5.0.4

it's running. I can access it through firefox. See all of my drives. Added 4Tb parity and 2x 2Tb so far. Would like to create a share and then mount it on my other computers to fill it up.

I add a share, let's say itunes. Allocation free-up. Min size 0. Add share.... Nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Also, no way to add plug-ins from the GUI?

Thanks for your help.

Ok Duh.... settings: Share settings... Turn on !!

There are some plugin managers that allow you to manage plugins, but most of them are not via the gui.

Take a look at unmenu as well.  that has a gui that allows you to manage and install other packages.  Some very helpful stuff.

unMENU is one, Dynamix is another.

Do *not* use SimpleFeatures with release versions of 5.0

I keep hearing simple features is not supported.  Of course this was AFTER i had already installed it.  So far, it seems to work pretty well for what i am using it for.

Yeah...I don't want to highjack the thread...and I don't mean to bash SF...the reason it still sticks around is that some parts work. And if those are the parts you use and nothing else, you'll be fine. Unfortunately, the parts that don't work fail silently or don't show up on the SF interface. There's tons o' forum threads where the OP asks for help and the answer is 'uninstall SF'.

DYNAMIX is a branch of SF that works with unRAID 5.x and is well supported in the forums. It has a nice interface and plug in support. I urge everyone to make the switch.

OK, thanks for the info.  I'll have to look into removing SF and replacing with DYNAMIX

Do not modify the stock system until the problems are resolved.

Thanks for that link!  Much appreciated!
