Exporting list of disk and corresponding shares/folders?

Featured Replies

How do we go about exporting a list, i.e. csv of Disk, and what shares/folders are in the disk?

I'm no expert, but unless you've excluded any specific drives from the shares settings, I believe you should have a folder for every share on each drive.  If you want to see what's in each folder of each drive, I'd just map the individual drive in Windows Explorer and take a screen shot of each folder's contents.  There may be an better way, but like I said, I'm no expert.  ;)

Years ago, I collected a BAT file that does something close to what you want.

It sends the output to Notepad.

I"m not sure how deep into the file tree it goes, and that initial "*." restricts it to folders,

but you can probably play around with it to get what you want.

FolderList.BAT.zip

On a Windows box install the free CutePDF printer.

http://www.cutepdf.com/

Then install any utility that can print a directory listing.  I use the (not free) Directory Printer [ http://www.galcott.com/dp.htm ] ... but Karenware's free one should work fine [ http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptdirprn.asp ]

Simply "Print" a directory of your disks at whatever level you want (you choose that in the listing utility) ... and select CutePDF as the printer.    Then you'll have PDF files with the listings you want  :)

I use Directory Report

http://www.file-utilities.com

because it is fast and

it can create .csv files which can be read by Excel and

it can report CRC
