Just bought a Gigabyte B85M-D3H with 4sata 3 ports and Intel Pentium G3220/1150 CPU and want to start a small un raid server and expand slowly. are there any issues that I should know about

    That'll work just fine.  There are actually 6 SATA ports (4 SATA-3 and 2 SATA-2), so you won't need to add any until you need more than 6 drives.

     

    ... You might want to ask these kind of questions BEFORE you buy the hardware  :)

    Thanks I new it also had 2 sata 2 porys just didnt list them, And your right good thing I paid a little extra so I could return if I had to I have a microcenter less than 5 miles away.
