January 20, 201412 yr Hello everyone, I am a long time unraid user and up to this point everything is running great. The issue that I'm having is due to my torrent client. I have tried quite a few different ones (transmission, utorrent Newest/the older one that works better, qbittorrent, etc.) I'm a member of many private trackers and my goal is to find a torrent client that will work with unraid setup. Although I have no issues with getting them to work with network shares/mapped drives. I to find a lightweight torrent client that can handle 1000+ torrents with out messing up. I do have most of my unraid drives set to spin down after 1hour of no use (has caused I/O errors in qbittorrent when a leacher jumps on and the drive is spun down) I have messed with lots of settings in all clients, and although I get better results it's still not up to par. So long story short this is what I'm looking to do. Find torrent client that is fast and stable with 1000+ torrents seeding (not all active of course) I'm willing to have the client run on my server or main desktop computer, change any settings to improve the experience(drive spin down, client settings, mapped drives, really anything) Thanks for anyone that reads this and gets me a step in the right direction, hackersack If any additional information is needed. Just let me know and I will respond as quick as I can
January 21, 201412 yr Personally I used rtorrent with a folder set to automatically download when it detects a .torrent file. It is command line program so does have a bit of learning curve. Might take a look at some rtorrent setup guides on google.
January 21, 201412 yr Author I don't have time to research it tonight. So just to get this straight... you install rtorrent on the "unraid server" and setup a folder on your "desktop computer" to detect .tor files? I have used rtorrent in the past, mostly on seedboxes. But don't worry I do research, research, research, then set things up.
