January 22, 201412 yr Hello all, my first drive(disk1) seems to be fuilling up more than the other drives(comparing disk1 to disk2 as both as 3TB each). not sure why this is occuring as all my shares are spanned accross all disk and all disks/shares are using highwater -=-UNRAID-=- Device Identification Temp. January 22, 201412 yr The drives won't fill uniformly. With high-water, the currently selected disk will be used until it's 1/2 full. Then the next disk will be used until it's 1/2 full. etc. So, for example, if you're using a couple 3TB drives, disk1 will be used until it's got less than 1.5TB left; then disk 2 will be used until it has less than 1.5TB left; then disk1 will be used again until 1/2 of the remaining space is used (i.e. until it's got less than 750GB left); etc. If you want the disks to be used uniformly, select "Most Free" as the allocation method.
January 23, 201412 yr You're getting exactly what you're supposed to be getting. 1st pass - fill disks until 1.5T is free. 2st pass - fill disks until 750gig is free. 3st pass - fill disks until 375gig is free. Look at the picture in the manual. http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Un-Official_UnRAID_Manual#High_Water
