starcat
The official documentation on the Supermicro X9SCM-F states that it only supports 1200 and 1200v2 Xeon processors -- anybody know if a 1200 v3 would work also in the X9SCM-F? Thanks! Quote Link to comment

Thanks! Since the V3 is an 1150 not 1155 that X9SCM-F needs I wouldn't expect it to work. Different pin count on CPU and different layout I believe. Quote Link to comment
garycase
Absolutely NOT. As Bob noted, the v3's are Socket 1150 CPU's, whereas the motherboard is a Socket 1155 board Quote Link to comment
starcat
Yeah, just saw that it is a different socket. Amazing though to name it v3 and do a major socket change! Thanks guys! Quote Link to comment
