dougnliz
Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with accessing the tower from one of my PCs. I'm setting up a new HTPC and at first it was accessing the tower with no issue. I recently added a new user and a new share for using clonezilla to backup and restore images of this HTPC. That is the only share that has the new user set. After creating that share however my HTPC now requires user/pass every time I reboot it to access the tower at all. My other PCs all still work fine with no user/pass required except for the images share. What can I check on my HTPC to figure out what's going on? Thanks, Doug Quote Link to comment
trurl
If Windows, what does Credential Manager show? Also from command prompt net use Quote Link to comment
dougnliz
Ah sorry, it's Win7 Home Premium. The Credential Manager shows the tower connection and the credentials I put in, however it asks me every time. I assume that's there because one of the times I checked the remember credentials box. However it doesn't seem too. net use shows a Mapped drive I made to one of the shares hoping that would resolve the issue. That didn't help either. Doug Quote Link to comment
trurl
You may need to delete the credentials and/or net use * /delete. It might be asking each time because you have more than one login it is remembering. Quote Link to comment
dougnliz
I cleared the Credentials Manager, removed my network drive, and cleared net use. Then I rebooted and no change. It's still asking me for credentials to the tower. Even though I shouldn't need them. Doug Quote Link to comment
dougnliz
Anyone have any ideas on what's going on here? Quote Link to comment
trurl
Maybe something here will help you figure it out. If not, then you will have to provide more details about your PC and unRAID users, shares, and security settings. Quote Link to comment
dougnliz
Thanks for the link. That actually did help quite a bit. It turns out I had accidentally created the same user on Windows that I was trying to use for the share without realizing it. The passwords were different so it wasn't working. So I deleted that user in unraid and created a different one and now it works as expected. Thanks again! Quote Link to comment
