February 6, 201412 yr Well, I finally have a cache drive installed, and I have my "appdata" share set to use "cache only". I set all my other shares to use the cache drive as well, and now when new files/folders are copied to my array, they end up in the cache drive. This is good, right? Only problem is, I can't get mover to work. The syslog says something about device is full. I tried searching the forum, and followed some advice of setting min free space in my user shares to 30gb (about twice the size of the biggest file I would ever copy to the array). This didn't solve the problem. I'm not sure what else to do. Here are some screen shots that may be helpful: I've also attached my syslog here. Any help will be greatly appreciated!! I'm sure I've missed a step somewhere. Thanks, Matt Unraid_syslog_2-5.zip
February 6, 201412 yr According to your first screenshot 3 of your drives are near or below min free space. Which shares use which disks, and which shares are on cache needing to be moved? Split level can also have an effect depending on how it is set since it may be trying to keep files together on disks that no longer have enough space.
February 6, 201412 yr Author Currently, all my shares use all disks. In the settings, I don't designate specific disks to specific shares. They all look like this: The user share stuck in cache is "Videos", which has a split level of 2. My folder structure for movies is like this: My folder structure for TV shows is like this: Maybe I should move some movies from disks 1, 2, & 3 to disk 4 & 5, and see if it helps the mover?
February 6, 201412 yr The TV shows may need a split level of three. What is the path of the files that won't move?
February 7, 201412 yr Author I just upgraded to Unraid version 5.0.5, and the mover still fails with device full errors. I've attached a fresh syslog with this post. Here are the movies that won't move: Here are the TV Shows that won't move: Everything else about this server seems to work fine. Dang this mover! Why would I need a split level of 3 for TV shows? February 7, 201412 yr If your not storing tv series seasons in separate folders I think split level 3 won't help. What array drive are those cached tv series on? It must have space to put the new cached series on the same drive for each series.
February 8, 201412 yr Author My TV shows are spread across multiple disks, including the one that is full. I changed split level to 2 after the fact. This would explain why mover isn't moving TV Shows, but what about movies? All my movie folders are clean i.e. No single movie is on more than one disk. Why won't mover move the movies? Now I have bigger problems, though. After upgrading to Unraid 5.0.5, disk 3 failed during a parity check. (I know, I should have done the parity check before upgrading). The last time I had a successful parity check was about a month ago. I'm going to start a new thread about using disk 4 (which is in the array, but empty) to replace disk 3. Thanks for your help, Matt
