Future Migration from xenserver to Unraid 6 as Host.

Featured Replies

I currently run unraid inside of a VM on xenserver 6.2, the basic setup is thus, i have 3 off raid drives acting as data stores for xencenter which i have my VM's on, my usenet VM puts it temporary download files on the datastore then transfers completed files to folders on the unraid array, also i have a Time Machine server in a VM that writes to the datastore drives.

When unraid 6 goes final, how hard is to migrate my working VM's from the data store drives to a cache drive setup with unraid as the host ?

I am in a similar position. I was pretty much resigned to moving my plex library over through straight copying, and just reinstalling everything else. Plus, I really didn't set my VM's up in best-practice manners anyway.

When I was setting up my VM's I copied all of my setup files (fstab, openvpn.confs, etc.) and created step by steps to setup all the apps and wrote them to Evernote. So, I am halfway to a guide ;-)

But, I know that the setups in straight Xen are different than Xenserver, so back to the books.
