February 7, 201412 yr First a disclaimer, I know little about Linux, but I managed to get an UnRaid server up and running. The problem is that I need to use the motherboard from the UnRaid server to fix another computer. The UnRaid server will be rebuilt with a new MB. The question is, can I just put the disks into the new computer and have the data intact, may after doing a rebuild of the parity drive? Next question: Backup. How would I backup my 1.5 TB of data to a USB disk, preferrably directly on the server so that the network isn't tied up for long? Thanks...Steve

February 8, 201412 yr Author Thanks splnut, exactly what I needed. I'll look up the 'Snap plugin' and the screen/mc command. I'm a linux illiterate....;-)
