share configuration gone after hard shutdown with unraid 6 beta 3

Featured Replies

Hi there,

as I am meant to post not in the release announcement thread, I am hoping someone can help me. Yesterday I had a complete nightmare with unraid 6 beta 3, I was trying out xen and the throughput was really bad, so I did the destroy of that vm to get the resources back, but the copy process still was running dog slow. So I thought let's shutdown the server and start it again, that should help. But it would not shutdown, there were processes which would not release the shutdown process. So I had press the power button, when the server booted back up all my share configuration has disappeared, and even my backup of the config directory did not fix it. So I am a bit lost right now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you did a hard shutdown, I'd suspect file corruption on the flash drive.

You could try running checkdisk on the flash drive from your PC (or Disk Utility on a Mac).

Done that and it was ok

any other suggestions how I can get the shares working again? Otherwise will try to revert back to 5.05

dgaschk do you mean not even copying the config folder besides the Pro License key? I don't want to lose my data, I can still go to each drive and the folders are on the drives, so I know that is still as it should be.

Starting with a new install will not effect the contents of the disks. Yes, keep the key file. Make sure to recored the drive serial numbers with a screenshot. Only the parity and cache drives matter when assigning the disks. The data disks can be in any order.
