February 9, 201412 yr Hi, I recently moved and my unraid server was ignored for a long time. now i made a new HTPC and connected it to my unraid server however, I cannot access it through the web. I ran ifconfig on the actual unraid tower and I do not see an ip under eth0 can anybody help me get my unraid server back up i attached a photo of my unraid screen and my syslog: http://www.imagebam.com/image/a0ae14306851085 thank you so much in advance, im desperate EDIT': i bought 2 unraid usbs a few years ago, so I tried my second usb key. this has the same problem, no ip detected in eth0 syslog-20140209-142224.txt
February 9, 201412 yr Stupid question, but is your unraid server actually connected to your network? Using the correct port if there are more? I had this myself once Check your router also to see if it is listed.
February 9, 201412 yr The picture shows "link up" My guess is to check cabling and/or reboot router. Do you have a dhcp reservation for unRAID in your router?
February 9, 201412 yr You say you 'moved.' Did you change internet providers, too? (The unRAID network.config file on the flash has a line that looks like this: GATEWAY="192.168.1.1" not all internet gateways use this address...I've also seen 192.168.2.1)
February 9, 201412 yr Author I didn't change isp My unraid. server is actually directly connected to my htpc, theres no router. Does this not work?
February 9, 201412 yr DHCP will not work this way I do not believe, you would have to assign static ip and place on same subnet of the xbmc. But to be honest a cheap router is easier...
February 10, 201412 yr Author Or turn on Internet Sharing on the PC. Thank you, this fixed my problem
