February 13, 201412 yr Wondering what the penetration of unRAID-6 and Xen is, and if people think that 6 is ready for daily use. (mods, if this is bad form, please delete and send me a PM) Edit: it's fine. IB
February 13, 201412 yr At the moment I'm on 6 w/o Xen because I'm waiting for b4 to address some issues before I commit anymore time to building my VM into something I'd label stable. But I did test out Tom's stacklet VM with Plex as a shake down.
February 13, 201412 yr yeah also waiting for next beta for the NFS fixes and to be able to auto start vm's and do a clean power down without crashing the vm's also waiting for another 8gb of ram to come in as currently only having 4gb ram in the server i want to test this with
February 13, 201412 yr I am running 6.0/Xen on my prod UnRAID server without issue. I've played a bit with the VMs, but don't want to mess around with the NFS permission issues, and am waiting on moving SAB/SB/Plex into a VM. Everything is stable though and I don't see myself moving back at all.
February 13, 201412 yr and am waiting on moving SAB/SB/Plex into a VM. So do the current Unraid plugins for SAB/SB/Plex work in 6 fine then?
February 13, 201412 yr So do the current Unraid plugins for SAB/SB/Plex work in 6 fine then? No, but there are 64-bit versions of the plugins available: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=31530.0 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=31485.0 And ditto to everything bkastner said: I am running 6.0/Xen on my prod UnRAID server without issue. February 13, 201412 yr I've got UNRAID6 with ironicbadger's ArchVM and Plex running without issue. Bit of growing pains but everything is working like a charm. Granted, there's still issues to work out as mentioned above but they're minor as long as you don't forget about them. My one recommendation with Plex if you desire to make your collection available by remote (or any application accessible from remote) is to NEVER use the standard port provided. Pick another port (add 1 or 10 or 50 to the port number for example) and forward that port to whatever port the VM is listening on.
