not sure where to ask this but how do I acces unraid from linux PC?

I am running 5.13beta still

I can see it and use it from windows PC just fine

but I just rebuild  my laptop with opensuse 13.1 and I do not even see the Tower or any shares from it.

any sugestions?

I don't have any experience in openSUSE, but if its anything like a lot of linux distros, than I image you have to enable SMB/NFS client.  You can check out their wiki page here.

I did think about SMB/NFS clients after posting and enable it.

I now  can browse to the unraid using IP under filemanager(dephfin)/network/samba

but it will not auto discover the server or the shares on it.

I have to type the IP in the address bar.

also I can not use Tower name at all, but it is the same in windows PC as well

even though when I do network browse in windows I see the Tower as server but can not map drive using the name. not a big deal just annoying .

You will need to set the workgroup name in the samba config to match what you have unRAID/rest of your network set to.  Google opensuse samba workgroup.
