February 14, 201412 yr Hi All I currently have phpvirtualbox running with the dyanmix webserver plugin but I cannot install Linux Mint as it requires "3D acceleration enabled" to be turned on, unfortunately phpvirtualbox doesnt have this option. I was hoping someone could tell me if lunux mint 16 will run within VMware on my unraid 5.0? If so is it as simple as droping the plugin in the folder and installing it? Obviously then I would need to setup a VM for Linux Mint. Thanks all

This is not a plugin that allows you to run VMWare inside of unraid and create VMs. This is for installing the VMWare companion tools for people that are running unraid inside a VM in a VMWare ESXi environment. i.e. We're all running unraid inside a VM on a server.
February 14, 201412 yr Author ahh ok, now I come to think of it I did read through some of this thread a while back, should have realised. Sorry Now to find another solution!
February 14, 201412 yr ahh ok, now I come to think of it I did read through some of this thread a while back, should have realised. Sorry Now to find another solution! Why do you need to use Mint? Can't you use another Debian based distro that doesn't require 3D acceleration like Lubuntu or Xubuntu?
February 14, 201412 yr Author Did try Lubuntu but I was having some sort of issue with that, will give it another shot. Is Xubuntu any good?
February 14, 201412 yr Yeah, I think the Xfce desktop environment is really nice looking. Try it out. What problem did you have with Lubuntu?
February 14, 201412 yr Author Ok Downloading Xubuntu now, will check it out. Cant remember the exact issue I had with Lubuntu, will see how Xubuntu goes and if I prefer Lubunutu I will give that a shot again! I am running on a HP Micorserver N36L so I wanted a low resourse OS. Thanks for your help, appreciated.
