Win7 host for Xen?

Featured Replies

This I'd probably a silly question but is there an option to install Xen on my windows 7 was and then load VMs ? A bit like VMware workstation or player ?

I would like to start preparing a VM that I'll have in my unRAID box.  Ideally I can learn and make the mistakes in a sandbox on my PC before I start on my server.

Well you can load virtual box on your win7 build vm there and then export vm as ova

Except that method would possibly have virtual box guest additions and no xen PV drivers.

Shame Xen is so limited in that respect.

Oh well, I can play with Arch in a VMware Player or Virtual Box instance and at least get some practice of installing, configuring, etc etc and then ideally it should be simple.  (famous last words)

It is simple really, once you get through the Arch Wiki chaff. I have a cheat sheet that is just copy and pasted commands which means I can install Arch in under 5 mins now...
