Sickbeard installation problem

Featured Replies

I put the sickbeard file into the config/plugin folder and booted unraid. When I go to try and install sickbeard through unraid, it gives me an error. Any Ideas?

I would suggest following the install instructions for the plugin. They can be found on Influencers pqge/thread.

That's what I was using but I don't know how to get to Config > Search Settings.

You need to check the data directory box and it will let you set a data directory. Not sure about SB since I don't use it but I do use SAB. You probably need to change the install directory since that location is in RAM and so won't survive a reboot.

Do you have a cache drive? Most of us have an apps share set to cache-only and use that for plugin installs. For example, for SAB I have:

Install directory: /mnt/cache/apps/sabnzbd

Data directory: /mnt/cache/apps/sabnzbd/data

No I don't have a cache drive. I guess I need to get at least a small ssd huh? I have plex on the first data disk so unfortunately that disk stays spun up.

I was going to use SAB but I don't use newsgroups.

If you already have a disk that will stay spun up, use it for all your apps. The only advantage to using a cache drive in this instance is that only one disk is spun up, instead of the data disk + parity. The downside is no disk failure protection. If you do get a SSD big enough for all your constant use apps, then you can migrate everything to it, but for right now, I'd just tell all your apps to use one of your data disks. The penalty for using an array disk for your apps is small, just 2 disks spun up instead of 1.

Ok so I think I'm moving in the right direction.

For the installation dir should it be mnt/disk1/applications/sickbeard

and for the data dir it should be mnt/disk1/applications/sickbearddata?

Or do I make the installation dir on the flash drive and the data dir on the disk where my apps are located?

Usual recommendation is to minimize writing to flash so put them both on /mnt/disk1. Be sure to include the first / before mnt

If you're going to install to a drive then don't bother checking the Data Directory check box. either use the default install directory and check the box to select a data drive location or install it all to a drive. In other words, just use the mnt/disk1/applications/sickbeard location if you want to install it there.  No point splitting the install and data up into 2 locations on the same drive.

I also would recommend you point the install to the share name "mnt/user/applications" and properly setup the "applications" user share to only use disk1. Then, if you move the applications share to a diferent disk one day all you need to do is move the contents and nothing else needs to be changed for it to continue working.
