Boot into Unraid + Xen

Featured Replies

The search on this site is so crap, or I'm just doing it wrong (very possible), I know I've seen the answer, but I just can't find it.

How do I change the boot order so it boots into the Xen version by default, my IPMI seems to not be showing the loader =/

Or does it anyway? I just typed xl in the consolde and a load of available commands came up?

edit the syslinux.cfg file (inside syslinux folder on your USB stick)

Move the 'default' line to the entry you want to boot into automatically.

thank you, thank you thank you! Although I think I've messed it up a bit now, lol.

I didn't have a syslinux folder, I had syslinux.cfg and .exe in the root, so I deleted those and copied the syslinux folder from the unraid6 zip, and now it doesn't boot :D

*edit* Ok, i formated the USB, run make bootable, and restored my config folder, option then came up to select xen, just waiting for it to boot now *fingers crossed*

Should be OK now. Those of us who have been upgrading by just copying bzimage bzroot missed out on the new syslinux. You really only need to run make_bootable again after deleting the old and copying the new to get it working again.

Ah, thanks, good to know.  It's working now :) I've just installed the owncloud VM and am currently installing the plexpass PMS so hopefully I'm all sorted :)

Ugh, this has been a major pain in the ass, I'm considering just going back to 5.0.5, I haven't managed to get plex/sabnzbd/sickbeard working properly yet in either the owncloud VM or archvm, I just can't seem to get the VM to see the tower =/

[root@ArchApplianceVM_v3 sickbeard]# showmount Tower -e

clnt_create: RPC: Unknown host

[root@ArchApplianceVM_v3 sickbeard]# showmount 192.168.0.20 -e

Export list for 192.168.0.20:

/mnt/user/TV    *

/mnt/user/Music  *

/mnt/user/Movies *

*edit* ok some of the mount points have started showing in plex now, but I think I have messed some other things up *sigh*
