how do i update the firmware on drives that are currently in my Unraid server?  i have 4 of them and am worried about them.

To check the firmware telnet in and run

 

& hdparm -I /dev/sdX | grep Firmware

 

where X is the drive

thanks Eric..  so if they need updating like im sure they do, do i need to take them out of my unraid server and do it in my windows machine?

The file from seagate is a bootable ISO.  So if you have a cd drive you can attach it to your array and do it that way.  Or I believe you could create the cd and copy it's contents onto a bootable usb drive

 

the third option would be to add the drive to a computer with a CD drive.

thanks man, i will have to probably go the bootable USB drive way, i think.. thanks for your information, the drives are a pain to pull out and i would love to do it without removing any.
