February 21, 201412 yr Just got this board, and it seems when I copy a file from the nas to my hard drive I am only getting about 10-20mb. On My q9450 proc I was getting around 80-100mb. Do you think I need newer intel drivers to make this work better? Any other ideas?
February 22, 201412 yr Start by disabling the many plug-ins that you are running. It's impossible to judge unRAID performance when so much else might be having an influence.
February 23, 201412 yr Try with bonding off. Use only a single interface. Paste the output of "ifconfig" and "ethtool eth0".
February 23, 201412 yr Author I started with bonding off. I enabled it as one of the last things to see if it fixes it/to test bonding. Same results with and without. Try with bonding off. Use only a single interface. Paste the output of "ifconfig" and "ethtool eth0".
February 23, 201412 yr There are several threads here and on other forums showing mixed results with this board -- some are getting good transfer rates; others are having the same slow transfers detailed here. I suspect there are going to be a few "growing pains" ... hopefully all can be resolved with a few BIOS updates. All you can do is be sure you've got good SATA and Ethernet cables with solid connections, and wait for AsRock to update the BIOS.
February 23, 201412 yr Author Ya I saw one guy claming 80+ meg so I figured it is not the unraid linux kernel or nic driver. I am just going to return board and buy at a later time, I do not like to wait for a company to fix a product as I have seen sometimes they never fix issues and you waste money. February 23, 201412 yr I agree. I came very close to buying this board when the pricing dropped below $400 ... but am certainly glad I didn't do so, as clearly it's got some growing pains to go through. I'm sure the Avoton-based boards are going to be excellent choices when they get past these issues; but, like you, I don't want to be one of the guinea pigs
