Wierd User share encounter..

Featured Replies

Im having a wierd problem with user shares.

Basicaly yesterday, i added a new disk (primarily for data files and not media).....i only had one share in the system prior, and i excluded my new disk from being part of it.

Yesterday, i copied my contents across to this share directly (ie \\tower\disk3)...the folder name was "data"- with all my subfolders below it... ie \\tower\disk3\data\.....

Today i wake up to find in the web management, under user shares - there's a new user share created called "data"....i definitely did not create this, as i was going to copy direct to disk for my data instead( for speed increase, and not having need for a split level span accross disks)

Any help?

Im running 4.3.3

Yes this is normal behavior.

You'll have to live with it. It is in fact a feature: You make folders on the root of your unRAID drives, they in fact turn to user shares (you don't have to use them if you don't like).

You can now go to your shares, make sure that this new share only includes disk3 and if you don't want to see it when you open your unRAID make sure to hide it (from its unRAID share properties)

easy

...and I still think you don't read documentation or wiki... please do
