February 23, 201412 yr I recently switched to ver. 5 with no issue. I am also using Dynamix.webGui which for the most part i am happy with it. I am a little perplexed that for the first time in many years that I can not expand my array. I just replaced a 1.5tb with a 2tb with no issue. I completed a pre-clear on the 1.5tb to re-purpose in the array. To my surprise I can't get the 1.5tb to recognize the shares for example: Movies/BluRay. I even tried to create Movies/BluRay on the drive and copy a movie to it. Still could not see the movie via user share. Any Ideas what is going on? Thanks
February 23, 201412 yr Not sure I understand. You said you can't expand the array then you talk instead of not being able to get a share on the drive you expanded the array with. Was the 1.5TB drive added to the array or not?
February 23, 201412 yr Have you defined your shares using Includes? If so, you need to add the new drive to your "Include" list. Also, are you trying to write directly to that drive? If it's simply part of a defined share; but the allocation method hasn't yet determined it's "time" to use that drive, then it won't.
February 23, 201412 yr Author The 1.5tb drive added to the array just fine. All drives in the array are full except the 1.5TB that was just added. The drive is included in the share for "Movies". The server will not save to the drive if saved thru user. If I try it say the drive is full while I save to the server. If I save to the 1.5tb drive direct you can see the freshly added movie on the drive directly but you can not see it via users. It acts like the share is being ignored for this 1.5tb drive in the array. Edit: I just looked at the Movies.cfg file and the drive is included for the share "Movies". Edit: Just changed the allocation method to "most free" and still no luck. Thanks
February 23, 201412 yr Author Thanks, I already have it at "0" which has no effect. I am doing a parity and when it is done I am going to remove all plugin's. If that does not resolve things I will assume something is corrupted on the flash. I may have to start over fresh with with the thumb drive!
February 23, 201412 yr Author Update: I just looked at the share.cfg file in the /boot/config folder. It was showing disk 1-8 for my user. It should of been 1 thru 9. The web gui showed all but is obviously incorrect! Does it require a reboot for the change/correction in the share.cfg file to take place? Thanks
February 23, 201412 yr I'd reboot anyway. Somehow the actual config as stored on the Flash is not in sync with what is running in the array.

The web gui showed all but is obviously incorrect!Since you were not using the unraid webgui, you should ask the author of dynamix to investigate. If a bug bit you, it may bite others.
February 24, 201412 yr Agree, you should notify the author of the alternate GUI you were using. FWIW, whenever you encounter an issue with basic UnRAID behavior, it's a good idea to boot "clean" (i.e. no plugins) and confirm that it's an actual UnRAID issue. In this case, it was not ... and you'd have realized that very early.

The webGui translates the original text into a dropdown table for easy selection, I suspect something at this point. Thanks for your observation.
