Main shows parity check w/o correction; unmenu shows parity check w/ correction?

Featured Replies

Just to signal an oddity, which I'm not sure if it has to do with my unmenu installation - quite old, and perhaps messed-up. Perhaps I should erase it and start from scratch - should I? Or is there another problem? I run 5.0.5 with Dynamix GUI add on.

Thanks for checking/looking into it.

Both screenshots show 'Parity Check' in progress.

unMENU and Dynamix will 'sample' the status of the parity check at different intervals.

Its not surprising that there are slight differences in the timing of their calculations, and therefore differ slightly in their statistics.

Was there some other oddity?

It is true that your unMENU plugins could be out of date, that's worth checking.  Post a syslog if you're concerned.

Thanks to both of you for looking into my post.

I can follow the explanation about counts. Makes sense. The problem which actually concerned me most:

On picture #1 you see that the correct flag unchecked

But on picture # 2 unmenu screen states some number of errors corrected. That absolutely should not be the case, if I started the parity check with NOCORRECT flag (presumably what the GUI does)

The pictures are taken right at the same time (seconds difference).

The parity check was initiated from the GUI (1st picture)

When the box is unchecked and parity check started from the GUI, it is done with NOCORRECT.

Thank you, bonienl. That's great.

Unmenu screen is not of the same opinion - would be good if that's corrected and we see consistent reporting between different tools.

I'm not sure if this belongs to Joe L, or someone else who wrote that piece using Joe's framework.

Thank you
