Transmission Crashes During Verify of Local Files

Featured Replies

I am having problems with Transmission crashing during validation of local files. Whenever I go to validate I will see the status start and validate the first few megabytes, or even first couple hundred, then the Transmission Web GUI loses its connection and will not reconnect until I restart the service.

I am using version 2.82 of Transmission, installed by a modified version of Influencer's 1.6 plg.

Not sure if it matters, but its happening when I add a new torrent, change the directory from the default, then rename the torrent to have the appropriate directory to match my local files, and select no files to download. It will NOT crash unless it actually starts verifying my local files. So if I have a typo in the directory and it tries to verify, it wont crash.

The syslog doesn't really tell me anything. Is there a separate logfile for transmission?

Any ideas how to resolve this? Or is there a better plugin to use? I really need the ability to at least rename the top level directory in the torrent.

UPDATE: This appears to only happen when I select no files to download. If all files have a check next to them then the validation appears to proceed as normal.

umm did you mod settings.json? because if you don't it will do that because it has nowhere to place the torrent as //Downloads doesnt exist :) You must change that to /mnt/disk1/torrents or whatever floats your boat i use /mnt/cache/downloads for both complete and in-complete and it works fine. You must not have transmission running while you do this, make your chnages once stopped reboot and bob's your uncle :) If not just use mine i made for the other guy in the thread above, i just did these today and the png are coming from my own webhost :)
