Crashplan 3.6.3 problem - Resolved

Featured Replies

On 2/27, I noticed crashplan upgraded to release 3.6.3 (1388556100363).  Since then, none of my hosts can connect to my Unraid (5.0-rc11).  Until 2/27, Crashplan on my unraid has been working flawlessly for over a year.  I used the forum procedure to connect my PC Crashplan GUI to look at my unraid configuration and saw in the history file that it was able to upgrade to 3.6.3 at the same time as all the clients (2/27).  While logged into the unraid, it indicates all the clients are offline and there is a backup pending for all of them.  The clients all indicate that the unraid server is off line and they are waiting on a backup (but other clients are shown as on line).  Because the PC clients can still see each other, there seems to be a quirk with unraid and the latest version of crashplan.  Has any one else had this problem?  Any suggestions?

I reinstalled crashplan using the crasshplan and crashplan gui combined instructions updated for version 3.6.3.  Now backups are running again!  Not sure how that fixed it but glad it did.

CODE42 (authors of Crashplan) found a bug in 3.6.3 and has suspended the roll-out until it is corrected.  The unintended consequence is that clients still running 3.5.3 can't back up to 3.6.3.  See details here.

They've provided a couple of options here, including forcing a manual upgrade or waiting until the 3.6.3 roll-out is complete.
