WOL dont work on Xen host and dedicated CPU to Dom0 = max speed

Featured Replies

When booting with Xen, the WOL are not working.

Booting without Xen, WOL works fine.

One more thing , edit syslinux to give host 1 or 2 cpu, these cpu's are going on maximum speed, speedstep is not working.

Maybe this shall be addressed to Xen team, but if some one here knows about it and have a good contact to Xen team, pleas forward it if you like.

googled the cpu issue, and find a solution!

Domain0 based cpufreq reuse the domain0 kernel cpufreq code and let domain0 handle the cpufreq logic.
Xen hypervisor provides two hypercalls, which are platform hypercall XENPF_change_freq and XENPF_getidletime,
to assist the domain0 kernel to get the system status and also change the CPU frequency.
It is simple to enable the domain0 based cpufreq, just add xen boot option "cpufreq=dom0-kernel" in the grub bootloader entry, for example:
